The Sony unveils its new and enhanced backup storage tape cartridge DAT160 on 1 April 2008. The Sony DAT160 tape (DGDAT160) has native capacity of 80 GB and compressed capacity of 160 GB. The Sony DAT160 is dual layer cartridge, which has extremely thin layer technology. The DAT 160 tape has increased linear recording density. The Sony backup tape offers excellent reliability and performance. The noise level is low, even in the high frequency band.It has the ability to perform repeated write-read operations.
